Larry Stevens, CEO of Würth Line China Won 2019 Haiyan Friendship Award

Larry Stevens(as shown above), CEO of Würth (China) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Würth”) won 2019 Haiyan Friendship Award granted by Haiyan People’s Government in recognition of the contributions made by Mr. Stevens and Würth for Haiyan’s development.
Haiyan Friendship Award was established to encourage and commend foreign-invested enterprise managers that have made outstanding contributions to Haiyan’s economic, social development, promotion of external exchange and cooperation, etc. And it is in order to further promote Haiyan’s external exchange and cooperation in economy, education, technology and culture.
Mr. Christoph Dirr, Sales Controlling Director of Würth collected the award on behalf of Mr. Stevens who was unable to attend the award ceremony of Haiyan Friendship Award due to his business trip abroad on the afternoon of April 15. However, Mr. Stevens extended his gratitude by a video in advance: “I am honored to receive this award. And it’s been a great honor and great pleasure to be working with HED, with the Haiyan government and the Haiyan Economic Development Bureau in the last 3 years to develop and grow our business and our company here in Haiyan. We have a great future ahead of us with Haiyan. And as we move forward and develop and grow our business, we hope to continue to develop and grow our friendship with everybody here in Haiyan. And I’m looking forward to working with each and everyone of you moving forward.”
Würth has set up its largest logistics center in Asia in Haiyan County, Zhejiang Province since 2015 through meticulous planning in line with the promising development trend of China. The Phase I project helped resolve the employment issues for 1 million local residents. Framework Agreement on the Development of Würth’s Logistics and Trade Center Project concluded by Würth Group and Haiyan People’s Government as witnessed by government officials of both countries in October, 2015 helps promote the development of Haiyan’s economic and trade activities and lays a solid foundation for the development of China-Europe German Industrial Park centered on the Asian logistics center of Würth Group.
The in-depth economic cooperation also boosts the friendly cooperation of Chinese and German local governments. Bad Mergentheim delegation and Haiyan delegation (Zhejiang Province) conducted exchange visits in Germany and China respectively in 2017 when both parties reached consensus on economy and trade, education, culture and tourism and signed a letter of intent on the establishment of friendly cities.
Würth Group Greater China Central Distribution Center Phase II was put into operation smoothly in Haiyan in December, 2018. It has in total 47,000 sqm of operating area, 18 loading and unloading docks, 5 parallel picking areas, and 120,000 storage locations which will be increased to 600,000 in the future. The center provides logistics services for China and Asia-Pacific area, with smart all-in-one logistics management to further lower costs, increase efficiency, promote Würth’s logistics development and enhance the company’s competitiveness.
In the future, Würth will continue to work together with Haiyan People’s Government and all local citizens to make greater contributions to the local economic development. This year marks the 25th anniversary of Würth’s development in China. We hope that we could forge ahead in the booming economic environment and provide better services for more customers from a broader region by leveraging the opportunities brought by Industry 4.0 while promoting enterprise upgrading!
